Abstract
The Guildhall School of Music & Drama has used Moodle as its virtual learning envionment since 2018. Given the challenge of encouraging adoption within a creative environment, early users largely ploughed their own paths, under the learning technologist’s guidance. This lead to academic modules having widely varying styles and presences online. This presentation will
explore that growth, include some feedback from students about their experiences accessing materials for study, and the move over the past year within some disciplines to impose order and consistency of experience that fits in with recently adopted institutional baseline standards for digital learning, whilst still allowing for creative flexibility. Furthermore, some of the wider uses of Moodle as a platform and additional plugins and integrations used will be mentioned to illustrate the increasing sophistication of use that the institution is now making of this technology.
