Abstract
This piece will explore the ethical implications and challenges of being the lead funder in a co-created or collaborative cultural knowledge exchange project. This article will explore the processes that were used to create non-hierarchical frameworks and systems of value in 2022-2023 project Disrupt at Guildhall School of Music & Drama. It will consider the ethics of co-creation, partnership development, collective decision making, project governance, and financial value. It will draw on evaluation material from the DISRUPT festival and toolkit, to consider the different experimental mechanisms used to decolonise and destabilise approaches typically used by organisations when they are the majority funder of a project.
