For Chamber Orchestra. Commissioned by the Guildhall School of Music and Drama to open the 10 year anniversary concert for Milton Court Concert Hall. Premiered by GSO, conducted by Joshua Weilerstein.
Stannum, or tin, is the customary 10-year anniversary gift. Tin is an alloy, traditionally combined from silver and lead. Accordingly, the piece is something of a mixture of ideas and materials inspired by different types of celebratory music - some brash, some tender, and some resolute.
