Abstract
I write about how instabilities in interpretation can arise as a result of ambiguities or incompleteness in the point of contact between composer and performer…the score. Using my piece for solo electric guitar, Bobby J, as a case study, I detail how these ambiguities can give results that were not intended by the composer, but that these results can often be quite welcome.
